Welcome to the DC Climate Action web site!
This
site was developed by
The George Washington
University
in order to provide current, multi-sectoral information about
climate change and what you can do about it. Because climate change is
occuring globally, this site will provide information about science, events, and
activities going on around the world. The site also focuses on informing
those who live and work in the Washington, D.C., region
about what they can do to make a positive difference.
In addition to this site, The
George Washington University offers climate-related courses and hosts an annual
Climate Action Conference
.
OUR VISION: To provide a comprehensive climate action hub for sharing
information and ideas among the public, for-profit companies, non-profit
organizations, and governments in the DC Metro area and
worldwide.
GET INVOLVED:
Though changes in the global climate are normal and occur over
millenia, anthropogenic - or human-induced - climate change is that which occurs
when people release "greenhouse gases" into the atmosphere. Learn how you
can reduce your personal and your organization's greenhouse gas emissions
here.
